Armed Forces
Each Red Cross Chapter must provide Armed Forces Emergency Services. Through
this program, Hancock County Red Cross helps members of the U.S. Armed Forces
and their families with timely and reliable emergency communications and other
case management services. The help is available worldwide 24-hours a day, seven
days a week, during peacetime and wartime, at no cost to the service men or
women and their family.
In Hancock County an emergency pager can be called at (217)221-8185. During office hours call (217)357-9079 (Monday through Thursday.) Hancock County Red Cross averages approximately 20 cases a year involving members of the Armed Forces and their families. These cases usually involve requests for emergency leave, death verifications, and health and welfare reports.
